In your body, everything is connected.
THIS IS WHAT WE KNOW
Safe and natural, clinically-proven treatments and healing techniques combined with a healthy lifestyle can heal illness and dramatically reduce pain.
At Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine, our mission is to treat every patient in the most effective way we can while collaborating with them and empowering them on their journey to healing.
We offer a scientific, innovative, holistic, non-opioid team approach to treating chronic pelvic pain, focusing on the muscles, nerves and joints of the pelvis.
A 27-year-old female had been experiencing urinary urgency and frequency for two years, keeping her up at night and interrupting her work day and quality of life. Her symptoms began after a urinary tract infection, however, urological tests were normal and her imaging was normal. She had seen over six other physicians. She completed our diagnostic and treatment protocol in combination with pelvic floor physical therapy. She was soon able to sleep uninterrupted and her daily life improved dramatically.
A 45-year-old male was referred by his colorectal surgeon after a year of rectal pain and burning, especially when sitting and during bowel movements. He had seen 10 other physicians and had multiple studies including MRI, CAT scans and colonoscopy – all tests were normal. During his initial exam, restricted range of motion was noted in his left hip. Along with our treatment protocol, the patient underwent pelvic floor physical therapy to release his left hip and pelvic floor muscles. His symptoms quickly subsided.
A 32-year-old female had suffered from pelvic pain for five years and had therefore undergone endometriosis excision surgery. However, her pelvic pain continued after surgery along with constant low back pain, and pain with intercourse and bowel movements. She experienced constipation and had difficulty functioning both at work and at home. We determined that, although the endometriosis was removed her muscles remained tense and her nervous system remained unregulated. She had been sensitized to pain as her “normal” state. After working us and pelvic floor physical therapists, she was free from low back pain, was able to have pain free intercourse, and was having bowel movements without pain.
A 26-year-old female was experiencing an extremely disturbing sensation of heightened sensitivity in her genitals, distracting her from her daily tasks to the point that she was unable to function as a mother or wife. This had continued for one year and was not relieved with orgasm. After seeing more than 10 physicians without improvement. After her initial exam, an MR neurography of her pelvis was ordered. The imaging showed scarring around ligaments in her pelvis, irritating her pudendal nerve. She completed our protocol in combination with pelvic floor physical therapy and her symptoms resolved.
