WHY DID YOU BECOME A NURSE PRACTITIONER?
I was a nurse for five years before becoming a nurse practitioner. I wanted to be a little more hands-on, on top of nursing, and wanted to see people come full circle, instead of just doing the orders that were given. I wanted to be part of diagnosing and treating people, instead of just giving them medications.
WHAT IS YOUR APPROACH TO TREATMENT?
I approach everything holistically. We’re not just tackling medical issues – we're tackling diet, exercise, sleep, and stress levels with basically every problem.
WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON HELPNG THE POPULATION OF WOMEN SUFFERING WITH ENDOMETRIOSIS?
This is a population of women that is underserved because endometriosisis so poorly diagnosed. I want more people to know that if endometriosis is causing their symptoms and pain, that we have an actual, effective treatment for them.
WHAT’S SOMETHING YOU WOULD LIKE PEOPLE TO KNOW ABOUT PELVIC HEALTH?
One thing people don’t realize about their pelvic health is that we hold a lot of tension in the pelvis – not just in our shoulders – and this really affects the entire body.
